Air Jordan V “Fire Red” – Available Early on

One of the confirmed Air Jordan V original colorway re-issues is the “Fire Red” colorway, best remembered for the bold red hue dominating the midsole of the shoes and more recently on the feet of the ousted Rick Ross. A leaked catalog shot from back in December revealed that the 2013 version would not feature the embroidered “23″ logo on the heel (something like what we’ve mocked up above) that was seen in both the original and 2006 Retro release, but who knows what may have changed during the production process? In any case, a confirmed release date of August 31st is now set, so let us know if these AJVs are a must-have for you amidst the recent unveilings of other big-ticket releases dropping around the same time.
Entirely quiet for almost a month as a ton of big Sneaker News hit the wire, an original Air Jordan V colorway is set for a retro release this Saturday. A reminder of the last season before Michael Jordan was crowned king of the NBA, the ‘Fire Red’ Air Jordan 5 flashes back to 1990 with a white leather build plus black midsole and red on branding elements like the V’s signature ‘shark teeth’, lacelocks and the reflective tongue’s Jumpman. Have a look below to remind you of Saturday, January 26th’s big releases and let us know which of the day’s drops tops your list.

We’re excited about the April release date for the long-awaited ’Grape’ Retro, but don’t forget about the other OG white leather Air Jordan V that’ll be here even sooner. The ‘Fire Red’ Air Jordan 5 Retro will be here in just over a month, beating fellow Class of ’90 alum ‘Grape’ by three months. There’s also a reissue of the 2006 model with its inverted accent colors coming up for the fall season, so ’13 is shaping up to be huge for Fives, and it all starts with this one on January 26th. Click through to see more details and let us know which 2013 Air Jordan Vs you’re most eagerly anticipating.
